Chavez Says U.S. Candidate McCain Promotes War With Venezuela

March 25 (Bloomberg) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said Republican
Presidential candidate John McCain was seeking to promote war with
Venezuela.
``Maybe he's seeking hawkish votes, from the right in Florida,'' Chavez
said at a press conference today in Caracas with foreign correspondents.
``Still, whoever wins we want to have better relations with the next
U.S. president.''
Chavez said President George W. Bush was seeking to exploit recent
border tensions, calling it ``the perfect excuse to intervene in
Venezuela and occupy our oil fields.''
