During the gathering, held Tuesday, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, Pedro Ross Leal highlighted the contribution made by Cuba to the Angolan liberation struggle, which was consolidated with the shedding of Cuban blood in the battles of Ebo, Kifangondo and in the mountains of Quibala, which stopped the occupation of the country by invading forces, Angopress reported. Ross Leal recalled the islandE=s advancements in different social and economic fields over the past 50 years and said that Cuban economy grew 7.5 percent in 2007. At present, there are some 37, 500 Cuban professionals in 70 countries of the world, he said.
