For the 16th consecutive year, the United Nations General Assembly will analyze and vote on the resolution entitled Necessity to put an end to the United States commercial, financial and economic blockade against Cuba. Speaking from Managua, Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega said that many people around the world are with Cuba and ratified his condemnation of the blockade, reports Granma newspaper. The Sandinista leader said that an almost unanimous support of Cuba on Tuesday in New York is expected, which will reflect the international community's response to the recent anti-Cuba speech delivered by US President George W. Bush. "It was a disrespectful and interventionist diatribe," said Ortega, who added that, despite attacks from Washington, "the important thing is that Cuba is strong, alongside Fidel." * ================================================================= NY Transfer News Collective * A Service of Blythe Systems Since 1985 - Information for the Rest of Us Our main website: http://www.blythe.org List Archives: http://blythe-systems.com/pipermail/nytr/ Subscribe: http://blythe-systems.com/mailman/listinfo/nytr =================================================================
