Authorities from the National Electoral Commission (CEN) said 2 million residents in 167 of the 169 municipalities go to vote again, since none of the candidates could get more than 50 percent of the votes in the first round. All the mechanisms are ready, and the necessary personnel, to guarantee the good course of the elections. In the first round, 96.49 percent of the Cuban voters gave their vote without distiction of race, sex, or social origin. A total of 12,208 delegates were chosen in the first round, 26.79 percent are women, 16.72 percent young people, and these are figures that can be increased in the second round.
