[NYTr] Message to Carlos Gutierrez Re Bush's Plan for Cuba Date: Wed, 24 Oct 2007 23:24:57 -0500 (CDT) Via NY Transfer News Collective * All the News that Doesn't Fit sent by Joan Malerich - Oct 24. 2007 Message to Carlos Gutierrez Re Bush's Plan for Cuba [Following is the message I sent to Carlos Gutierrez regarding Bush's current and planned actions against Cuba. I was not able to listen to Bush's speech before sending this, but anyone following Bush's agenda against Cuba (indeed against the poor countries of the world) has a pretty good idea of what Bush's message will be. I guess I had better be very careful about for whom I open my door--if my message is read. But, then, that is real life--saying what needs to be said and being willing to accept the consequences. -Joan] *** Today at 3:30 PM EDT Carlos Gutierrez Secretary of Commerce It is very sad to see Bush once again go down the wrong path. This time regarding Cuba. Of course, Bush is not the only president to live in fear of the Miami Cuban American Mafia terrorists. It has become a habit and desire for political candidates to woo these terrorists in order to get the state of Florida. Of course, as in the 2000 elections especially, the Mafia makes a fiasco of democracy. On the contrary, Cuba has the most fair and free elections any where in the world. How I wish we had Cuba's system: One political party that serves to hold the humanitarian ideals of the country together but does NOT nominate candidates. Only the PEOPLE nominate candidates and vote in secret ballots for which the ballot boxes are guarded by youth. Pretty amazing stuff. Also, Fidel or anything person who becomes President of Cuba, must first be voted into the National Assembly of People's Power by the People. Fidel has always been overwhelming elected to the National Assembly of People's Power. And, this is with approximately 95% of the PEOPLE voting. Bush keeps saying that he supports the Cuban people right to speak out. So, why does not this deaf man listen to the overwhelming majority of Cubans who have spoken and who support their Revolutionary programs, especially their humanitarian universal health care program which they share with the poor of the world and their free education through college, which they also share with the poor of the world. Here in the US over 18,000 people die a year because of lack of health care. Here in the US youth are becoming indebted to the moneyed interests with their student loans. It is very similar to the way the US controlled IMF and World Bank have indebted the poor in third-world counties to make them dependent upon the US. Another thing that is important to do is: Either stop the Cuban Adjustment Act OR, if it is kept in place, do a Mexican Adjustment Act, a Salvadoran Adjustment Act, a Guatemalan Adjustment Act, a Hondurans Adjustment Act---well, you get the idea. If you did an "adjustment act" in all of the other Latin American countries that have become devastating poor, with no health care, with children not being able to attend school, with children being used for sex trade, with one atrocity after atrocity that does NOT happen in Cuba, these other Latin American countries would empty out and run to their abuser (the US). Last, stop the illegal and immoral blockade against Cuba---that is what the overwhelming majority of Cubans are begging for; but, again, deaf Bush (and the other US moneyed interest nominated and "elected" presidents) must listen to the wishes of the People. I am so ashamed of the US government for its brutal and terrorist acts against the People of Cuba, who have done nothing but use their accomplishments to help the poor of the world. When will you and the rest of the Republicrats listen to the voices of the PEOPLE around the world, instead of the voices of the moneyed interests who control the US government??????? -------------- next part -------------- * ================================================================= NY Transfer News Collective * A Service of Blythe Systems Since 1985 - Information for the Rest of Us Our main website: http://www.blythe.org List Archives: http://blythe-systems.com/pipermail/nytr/ Subscribe: http://blythe-systems.com/mailman/listinfo/nytr =================================================================
