Led by Professor Jose Lopez Mazz, experts have already dug for more than 60 days in La Tablada, a zone outside Montevideo, where the offices of an organization for anti-subversive operations were located, but so far their efforts have not been successful. Between 1980 and 1984 the bodies of several Uruguayan people opposed to the military dictatorship were taken to this place. During these years, 200 Uruguayans were murdered; most of them while they were arrested and transferred to Uruguay from Argentina, where military had also the control of the government. The transfer and possible execution of these people was part of the notorious Operation Condor, coordinated between the governments of Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil, Uruguay and Venezuela to eliminate their opponents. hr/tac/asg * ================================================================= NY Transfer News Collective * A Service of Blythe Systems Since 1985 - Information for the Rest of Us Our main website: http://www.blythe.org List Archives: http://blythe-systems.com/pipermail/nytr/ Subscribe: http://blythe-systems.com/mailman/listinfo/nytr =================================================================
