When he cancelled, there were a lot of angry rich folks who'd bought tickets from the scalpers. He has agreed to try again, but this time is insisting that no one pay a penny to get into the concert. -NYTr] Agencia Cubana de Noticias (ACN) http://ainch.ain.cu/mailman/listinfo/ingles Silvio Rodriguez Announces Free Concert in Chile Havana, Oct 19 (acn) Cuban singer-songwriter Silvio Rodriguez confirmed that he will participate in the celebration of the 90th anniversary of Chilean artist Violeta Parra and in a concert honoring Cuban musician Leo Brouwer, scheduled for the last week of November in Chile. He will also perform a free concert in Talca, 260 kilometers to the south of Santiago de Chile. Rodriguez, who is currently in Spain, sent a message to the 15th Meeting of Chile's Movement of Solidarity with Cuba confirming his participation in the celebrations. He also announced that he will be performing in a concert dedicated to Cuban composer and orchestra director Leo Brower in the South American country. Likewise, he said that during his latest stay in Chile he asked Talca's mayor to work together in the organization of a popular concert in the city. The concert in Talca has been scheduled for December 2, said Rodriguez, emphasizing that it will be free for everybody; This in response to an earlier concert when there were allegations of speculation for the tickets. In his message, Rodriguez, who was a pioneer of the Nueva Trova movement in Cuba, thanked the 200 delegates from the various organizations attending the conference, which will come to an end next Sunday. He said the meeting demonstrated the Chilean people's support for the Cuban revolution. Nueva trova is a movement in Cuban music that emerged in the mid-1960s.
