Former Salvadoran General Prosecutor Murdered

San Salvador, Oct 12 (Prensa Latina) Former Salvadoran General
Prosecutor Manuel Cordoba Castellanos was shot by unknown people in a
residential zone in Santa Tecla, San Salvador, as confirmed by official
sources Friday.

Cordoba Castellanos received several bullet impacts when he arrived in
his vehicle to the front of the house of some of his relatives.

The victim had served at the Public Ministry leadership from 1996 to
1999, and he was now working as a lawyer in San Salvador.

Rodrigo Avila, Director of the National Civil Police, said the results
of the investigation would be awaited to avoid speculations on the
murder.
