The President of the Cuban Parliament's Commission on Education, Culture, Sciences, Technology and Environment, JosC) A. Diaz Duque, made the appeal at a meeting held in this capital under the sponsorship of the United Nations Program for the Environment and its regional office. Diaz stressed the success of the implementation of the ecological project in several Cuban municipalities through the broadcasting of didactical materials and the organization of local workshops on the topic. The meeting was attended by a group of countries, including Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru, that signed an agreement in 2003 to promote environmental education among the people. In its annual report Alive Planet 2006, the World Wildlife Foundation concluded that Cuba is the only country around the planet that has experienced some progress toward sustainable development. -------------- next part -------------- _______________________________________________ Ingles mailing list Ingles@ain.cu http://ainch.ain.cu/mailman/listinfo/ingles * ================================================================= NY Transfer News Collective * A Service of Blythe Systems Since 1985 - Information for the Rest of Us Our main website: http://www.blythe.org List Archives: http://blythe-systems.com/pipermail/nytr/ Subscribe: http://blythe-systems.com/mailman/listinfo/nytr =================================================================
