Ukraine and Cuba Sign Agreements

Kiev, Oct 9 (Prensa Latina) Ukraine and Cuba signed several bilateral
agreements in the framework of the ninth session of their Mixed
Commission Tuesday, held in the Ukrainian Economy Ministry in Kiev.

The Ukrainian party signed agreements in several fields, including the
scientific-technical, transportation and tourism, with signatories
Public Health Minister Yuri Gaidiev and the president of the Chernobil
Fund Alexander Bazhko.

Cuban Vice Ministers for Foreign Investment and Economic Collaboration
(MINVEC) and Public Health, Ricardo Guerrero Blanco and Rene Hernandez
signed for Cuba.

Guerrero Blanco spoke about Cuba's ahievements, highlighting the 2006
12.6 percent GDP and the energy program.

He discussed the official participation of Ukraine in the 25th
International Havana Fair in November, and supported the Ukrainian
meeting in this capital to explore scientific-technical collaboration.

Ukrainian Economy Minister Natalia Boitsun noted the increase of the
Gross Domestic Product in her country, up to 7.7 percent in the first
half of this year, while investments in 2006 reached 24 billion dollars.
