The other resolution asks for the extradition of terrorist Posada Carriles to Venezuela. The documents were approved unanimously by participants in the congress that was held in Los Angeles, California in the United States. The resolution on the Cuban Five also demands the granting of humanitarian visas to Adriana PC)rez and to Olga Salanueva so they can visit their husbands Gerardo HernC!ndez and RenC) GonzC!lez, respectively. It notes that the Cuban government infiltrated Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio Gerrero, Ramon Labanino, Rene Gonzales and Fernando Gonzales into Cuban-American groups based in South Florida under a state of need, to detect and avoid terrorist actions against Cuba. The decision followed a great number of terrorist attacks that have been carried out against the island, including against civilian facilities, economic and tourist targets. All actions were organized by those groups in Miami as stated in the document. It also notes that Cuba was forced to take action as the U.S authorities did not listen to its requests of taking measures to put an end to such attacks. Instead, the Five men were accused of multiple crimes never committed and were submitted to a trial held in Miami, where there is such a prejudice against Cuba, reads the resolution. On the other hand, the organizations represented in the Latino Congreso demanded that terrorist Luis Posada Carriles be sent to Venezuela as he is a fugitive of that country and the Venezuelan Government has demanded his extradition so that he may face charges related to the downing of Cubana flight 455 in 1976. The resolution says when setting free terrorist Luis Posada Carriles, the U.S violated Resolution 1373 of the Security Council of the United Nations and also international treaties of which the United States is a signatory. * ================================================================= NY Transfer News Collective * A Service of Blythe Systems Since 1985 - Information for the Rest of Us Our main website: http://www.blythe.org List Archives: http://blythe-systems.com/pipermail/nytr/ Subscribe: http://blythe-systems.com/mailman/listinfo/nytr =================================================================
