This visit will be an expression of the cordial links, and it falls within the historic and deep ties of brotherhood and solidarity existing between the Cuban and Honduran peoples, Granma newspaper reported today. Zelaya's agenda also includes visiting educational centers and sites of scientific and social interest. Cuba and Honduras reestablished diplomatic relations in January 2002, but since 1998, after the passing of Hurricane Mitch, about 1,500 Cuban collaborators have been worked in that Central American country. Nearly 400 physicians from the island are currently working in Honduras, while 1,000 young people from that nation are studying in this country, 500 of them medicine. ef iff ro mf * ================================================================= NY Transfer News Collective * A Service of Blythe Systems Since 1985 - Information for the Rest of Us Our main website: http://www.blythe.org List Archives: http://blythe-systems.com/pipermail/nytr/ Subscribe: http://blythe-systems.com/mailman/listinfo/nytr =================================================================
