Nicaraguan President Highlights Che Guevara's Legacy

Havana, Oct 5 (acn) During an address at a session of the 
international courts of justice underway in Managua, Nicaraguan 
President Daniel Ortega highlighted the legacy of the late legendary 
guerrilla fighter Ernesto "Che" Guevara.

Ortega pointed out that people from all walks of life admire Che 
Guevara's ideals and his sacrifice for the liberation of several 
nations around the world, reported Prensa Latina news agency.

The Nicaraguan president recalled that on October 8, coinciding with 
the 40th anniversary of Che Guevara's assassination in Bolivia in 1967, 
the International Court of Justice from The Hague will deliver a 
verdict on the territorial dispute between Nicaragua and Honduras.

On that same day, Ortega will meet with his Honduran counterpart Manuel 
Zelaya in the common border where the two heads of states have agreed 
to comply with the decision handed down by the United Nations' 
principal legal body.

In statements to the press, Ortega said the anniversary of Che 
Guevara's death will be commemorated this weekend in Nicaragua during a 
student meeting to take place in Managua.
