Enrique Acevedo, who fought with Che in several battles and later wrote the book of memoirs "Descamisados," told Prensa Latina he was very proud to be visiting Bolivia right on the 40th anniversary of the assassination of his former Commander in La Higuera. Enrique and his brother Rogelio Acevedo are heading the Cuban delegation to the Congress. Enrique said he was very moved by visiting the sites where Che fought. He noted that he could have been one of his partners there in Bolivia. Also travelling with the group is Leonardo Tamayo -Urbano-, who accompanied Che in his guerrilla activities in Africa and Bolivia. Enrique and Rogelio Acevedo, Tamayo and Rafael Daussa, the Cuban ambassador to Bolivia, will be named "Distinguished Sons" of Caimiri, the town where the Congress of solidarity with Cuba will take place. * ================================================================= NY Transfer News Collective * A Service of Blythe Systems Since 1985 - Information for the Rest of Us Our main website: http://www.blythe.org List Archives: http://blythe-systems.com/pipermail/nytr/ Subscribe: http://blythe-systems.com/mailman/listinfo/nytr =================================================================
