Participating in the forum will be personalities such as attorney Jose Pertierra, who represents the government of Venezuela in its petition of extradition of self-confessed terrorist Luis Posada Carriles, and Leonard Weinglass, one of the attorneys of the defense team of Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez, Ramon LabaC1ino and Rene Gonzalez, internationally known as the Cuban Five, who remain unjustly imprisoned in the United States nine years after they were detained for infiltrating terrorist anti-Cuba organizations based in Florida. According to the website www.antiterroristas.cu, members of the International Committee for the Release of the Cuban Five will participate in a round table to give details about the case and to present books, videos and other materials on the case. The so-called 'war on terror' and its consequences for the 'latinos' in the United States will be one of the main topics to be discussed in the meeting that will coincide with the 31st anniversary of the mid-air bombing of a Cubana airliner on October 6, 1976, that cost the lives of 73 people and which was masterminded by Luis Posada Carriles. Also present in the forum will be the executive director of the Interreligious Organization Pastors for Peace, Reverend Lucius Walker, and the executive director of the Cuban-American Alliance of Educational Funds, Delvis Fernandez. Other topics that will be discussed during the forum include the importance of the vote of 'latinos' in the United States, Washington's foreign and economic policies and their consequences for Latin American immigrants as well as the migratory reform and climate change. -------------- next part -------------- _______________________________________________ Ingles mailing list Ingles@ain.cu http://ainch.ain.cu/mailman/listinfo/ingles * ================================================================= NY Transfer News Collective * A Service of Blythe Systems Since 1985 - Information for the Rest of Us Our main website: http://www.blythe.org List Archives: http://blythe-systems.com/pipermail/nytr/ Subscribe: http://blythe-systems.com/mailman/listinfo/nytr =================================================================
