Cuba-China Sign Scientific Cooperation Agreement

Havana, Nov 22 (acn) Cuba and China have singed a new agreement for 
scientific cooperation in the fields of quality, inspection and 
quarantine supervision.

The document, which will be valid for a period of five years, was 
signed in Beijing by Cuban Vice Minister of Sciences, Technology and 
Environment, Lina Dominguez, and Chinese Vice Minister of General 
Administration for the Supervision of Quality, Inspection and 
Quarantine, Pu Chang Cheng.

The accord responds to the necessity for boosting cooperation between 
the two sister nations in several areas including normalization, 
metrology, certification, accreditation and inspection.

The Cuban Vice Minister is in Beijing at the invitation of the Chinese 
Ministry of Sciences and Technology. During her visit, Dominguez also 
met with the Vice President of the Chinese Social Sciences Academy, Dr. 
Zhu Jiamu.
