With this victory, volleyball became the 13th sport to qualify for Beijing, and the women's volleyball team became the second team in the list. Cuban sports that have so far qusliied for Beijing are volleyball (12 tickets), baseball (24), diving (3), wrestling (5), archery(1), canoeing(2), judo (5), weight lifting (6), pentathlon (1), rowing (9), tae kwon do (3), shooting (3) and cycling (1). Experts of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) said that more than 30 Cuban athletes have the score or timing to qualify. Cuba intends to participate in 20 of the 28 categories competing. Other sports with high chances of qualifying are boxing, basketball (women), football, volleyball (men), and table tennis.
