Fidel Castro Sends Letter of Congratulation to Hugo Chavez

Cienfuegos, Dec 21(acn) Cuban President Fidel Castro sent a letter to 
his Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chavez congratulating him for his 
profound and meaningful words during the fourth Petrocaribe Summit this 
Friday in the Cuban port city of Cienfuegos.

'You were clear, precise, and brief,' wrote Fidel. 'I liked your tone 
and your way of alternating written facts and timely comments,' the 
message reads.

In reference to the international press, Fidel said it is being 
'objective' in general, and all the cables have positive aspects.

'The US news agency AP, undoubtedly the one most cited by other 
international news agencies, includes statements by Chavez and 
important excerpts of the speech given by Cuban First Vice President 
Raul Castro,' said Fidel.

'In few words, you have been brilliant, not just the opening words but 
your performance during the whole meeting,' praised the Cuban President.

'I beg you to congratulate all the speakers in my name, for their 
straight and sincere statements,' reads the message, 'and to pass my 
message of fraternal solidarity to all the participants in the 
meeting,' concluded Fidel.
