The report on results of related works in 2007 highlights the efforts of 500 experts on coastal management, trained as result of an agreement signed with Cuba in 2004. During a meeting to review the 2008 plans, Sergio Rodriguez, the general director for Environmental Planning at the environment ministry, indicated the ultimate objective is to focus attention on all Venezuelan states with coastal zones, to recover those with severe environmental problems.
