Lugo: Paraguay Change Is Possible

Asuncion, Nov 29 (Prensa Latina) Paraguay presidential candidate
Fernando Lugo asserted on Thursday that a change in Paraguay is a real
possibility, and urged the population to reject injustice and robbery
of public coffers when they vote.

In a campaign stop in Asuncion, the presidential pick of APC (Patriotic
Alliance for Change) told voters to judge his work with extreme
severity if they elect him in April.

"Judge us strictly, fairly, if I buy a house in Miami or a ranch in
Chaco. Burn us in the public plaza if we rob the humble and deprive
them of their right to a decent life, to have a profession, to study,"
said the former bishop.

The former Catholic cleric said the changes Paraguay needs can be
generated only with youthful rebellion.

After insisting that the theft generalized in the government
institutions will be a priority in his government program, Lugo
remarked that with the same conviction he embraced the Gospel, he
assumes his commitment to the people.

Lugo, who leads the polls in this country, also prioritizes a
comprehensive integral agrarian reform and establishment of a real
fight against hunger in the South American nation.
