TELESUR Denies Rumors on Venezuela Vote

Caracas, Dec 2 (Prensa Latina) The president of TELESUR multi-state
channel, Andres Izarra, on Sunday denied stories that the network
intends to broadcast early information on the results of the referendum
being voted today in Venezuela.

"That is completely false," Izarra told Prensa Latina when interviewed
on related remarks by Juan Carlos Caldera, leader of the opposition
"Primero Justicia" party.

Izarra clarified TELESUR's situation this year, with an open signal for
Venezuela, is different from the past, when it was exempted from
electoral law banning broadcasting early results for being a channel
only received abroad.

9,000 Venezuelans Vote at Consulates in Spain

Madrid, Dec 2 (Prensa Latina) Five consulates of Venezuela in Spain
welcomed over 9,000 citizens from that South American country on
Sunday, to vote for a project of constitutional reform proposed by
President Hugo Chavez and the national Assembly.

The tables for Venezuelan residents vote were installed in the cities
of Madrid, Tenerife, Barcelona, Vigo and Bilbao and they will be open
until 17:00 UTC.

The greatest influence of expatriate voters will be in Tenerife,
with 3,130 voters, followed by Madrid with 2,131, according to
information of Venezuelan embassy to Madrid, Spain.

The Venezuelan electoral registry for this referendum comprises to
16,109,664 people, 60,000 of them foreign residents, where 125 schools
were fitted out.

The reforms proposed include to 69 articles and 15 transitory
dispositions to the Constitution, to support the transition of the
country towards a model of socialist character.
