ABDUCTIONS AND KILLINGS OF CHILDREN IN HAITI DENOUNCED BY UNICEF

Condemning a recent spate of kidnappings and assassinations carried 
out against children in Haiti, the United Nations Children’s Fund 
(<"http://www.unicef.org">UNICEF) has called for action to bring 
The agency cited local authorities who reported at least 11 kidnappings 
of children in November alone. 

According to UNICEF, the mutilated body of a seven-year-old boy was 
found two weeks after he was kidnapped in the city of Cabaret, 
north of Port-au-Prince. His family had been unable to pay the ransom 
of nearly $700. 
The agency called on the Haitian authorities to do everything to 
ensure the protection of children and bring the perpetrators to justice.
