[NYTr] Radio Venezuela en Vivo Begins Tomorrow! Date: Thu, 29 Nov 2007 22:37:53 -0600 (CST) Via NY Transfer News Collective * All the News that Doesn't Fit sent by Carlos Martinez via Jane Franklin - Nov 29, 2007 Radio Venezuela en Vivo Begins Tomorrow! Broadcasting Live from Venezuela's Constitutional Reform Referendum I just finished co-leading a delegation here in Venezuela, which arrived at a really significant time as a vote on constitutional changes proposed by President Chavez and the National Assembly is coming this Sunday. As some of you may know, the situation has become increasingly conflictive with the latest event being the murder of a Chavez supporter by a militant opposition group on Monday. Meanwhile, opinion polls have been showing radically varying results, playing out the same scenario which occurred during VenezuelaB9s presidential election last December, leading many to believe that there will be another attempt to discredit the referendum results if the constitutional changes are supported. All of this is overshadowed by the Venezuelan governmentB9s release of a confidential memo from the US Embassy to the CIA detailing specific plans to destabilize the upcoming vote and coordinate an overthrow of the Chavez government. Yes, very intense! Undoubtedly, much inaccurate and inflammatory news about the situation in Venezuela will be appearing in US and international press in the coming days. To attempt to counteract this, a group of friends (particularly Mike Fox for those of you that know him ) have amazingly slapped together a project in the last two weeks to do live internet radio broadcasting from Venezuela in the following days. Its been incredible to witness the energy that has converged to push this very important initiative forward. Broadcasting begins tomorrow! Please support this project in whatever way you can and tune in. In particular there is a need for people to transmit the broadcast from their computers to allow for more listeners. If this is something you are interested in doing please contact me or Mike Fox ( mfox.us@gmail.com ). More information about the project is below.
