Cubans Plan Homage to Luciano Pavarotti

Havana, September 27 (acn) Three movies including performances by late 
Luciano Pavarotti will be screened in Cuba, as part of a homage to the 
tenor organized by the Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC).

The films show his outstanding performances in La Cveme, by Giaccomo 
Puccini, and acts I, II and III of the opera Idomeneo by Wolfgang 
Amadeus Mozart.

Presentations will start on Monday, October 8 at Havana's Multisala 
Infanta, Sala 4, and will be a new chance to enjoy the incredible 
talent of one of the best tenors of the 20th century.

Luciano Pavarotti died of pancreas cancer on September 6, 2007 at the 
age of 71. Born in Modena, Italy, Pavarotti was one of the famous 
"Three Tenors" alongside Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras. The Italian 
opera singer was awarded not just for his talent but also for his 
charity work with refugees and the Red Cross.
