Dear Rich,

Warm greetings from Columbus, Georgia. I hope that I'll be seeing you soon if you're able to join us at the vigil this year. In just 50 days, thousands of supporters from across our strong movement for justice will be gathering together just down the street at the gates of Fort Benning. I ask for your financial help to make this November vigil a success. http://www.soaw.org/donate

The hard work of hundreds of dedicated volunteers around the country is shaping up to create the largest gathering we've seen yet. But it can only continue with the important financial contributions of people like you. Please make the most generous donation you can today to support the November vigil and nonviolent direct action. To support this year's event we need to raise more than $64,000 dollars. We need help to pay for the stage, convention center and our media and legal offices.

When you donate, your contributions will help us bring organizers working on the front lines in Latin America to the vigil. You'll support people like Pablo Ruiz, a survivor of torture in Chile. Pablo is an important member of our Latin American Initiative and maintains the SOA Watch website in Spanish. It will be an honor to have Pablo share his experiences with us as a human rights leader in Latin America.

Human rights abuses by U.S.-trained militaries are still rampant and we are up against a giant. The Pentagon is fighting hard to keep its School of the Americas in operation. The school is important to them, as it is their way of controlling Latin America's land and its people. We will put an end to this - if we gather together all of our resources and speak up in numbers too great to be ignored. Join me in our fight with the poor! Together, we will close the School of the Americas and a culture of peace and justice will prevail!

Looking back, it's amazing how far we've come, and a testament to the good hearts and strong hands of organizers all across the Americas. Starting with a handful of dedicated people, we have become a truly vibrant movement with the power to change the course of history.

In gratitude and peace,
Fr. Roy Bourgeois
