Fujimori Prison to Remain Secret

Lima, Sep 21 (Prensa Latina) Peruvian judicial authorities announced on
Friday that they will maintain secrecy on the prison facility where ex
President Alberto Fujimori will be held when he arrives from Chile on
an equally undisclosed date.

The expected extradition of the former Peruvian ruler (1990-2000) was
confirmed on Friday by the Chilean Supreme Court after a proceeding
criticized as secretive and delayed.

Justice Minister Maria Zavala guaranteed a fair trial for Fujimori, who
is wanted in Peru for corruption and human rights violations.

We concluded this phase and now it is time to bring the extraditable to
Peru, said Zavala, who, claiming security reasons, refused to reveal
where the ex president will be held.

President of the Peruvian Congress Luis Gonzalez simply said that
Fujimori will be held in "an appropriate place, without privileges or
revenge."

Gonzalez and Zavala recommended keeping a low profile on the Fujimori
case, as the country is currently facing more urgent situations.
