The Tribute to Mexico exhibition includes some twenty engravings and paintings by these three artists that are part of the museum's collection and takes place in conjunction with the Casa de Las Americas cultural institution and the Mexican embassy. The exhibition was inaugurated by Mexican Ambassador to Havana Jose Ignacio PiC1a Rojas. In statements published by Granma news daily, PiC1a Rojas said that the work of these artists is a symbol of the fraternity that has united the two peoples. At the opening, Mexican painters Arturo Estrada and Arturo Garcia Bustos, and researcher Teresa del Conde shared some of their experiences with the three master painters. Among the featured works are Modesta cosiendo, an oil on canvas by Rivera; an oil on wood painting by Siqueiros; and Las Masas, a lithograph by Orozco. The exhibition tries to recreate the discursive aesthetics these artists brought to mural paintings that revolutionized Latin American conceptualisation in the 20th century. * ================================================================= .NY Transfer News Collective * A Service of Blythe Systems .
