Gen. Ramon Aquino and Vice Adm. Sigfrido Pared, head of the National Investigation Department, Thursday to study national security. The meeting attracted attention because it follows former guerrilla Claudio Caamano's dialogue with top military commanders on his denunciation of a planned military coup. Last week Caamano asserted that he was approached by a group of active-duty colonels to join plans to remove President Fernandez from the National Palace. Caamano reiterated the information during his conversation with the military, but refused to name names because "many people could be affected," he told press. The ex guerrilla's statements add to a recent release from several retired generals that military officers in active service were planning to falsify the results of the elections scheduled for May, to favor the president. ef ccs iom msl * ================================================================= .NY Transfer News Collective * A Service of Blythe Systems .
