The association is the largest organization in the world that groups experts from different countries on Latin American and Caribbean issues. The 6,000 academics who are participating in this meeting until September 8, are debating "After the Washington Consensus: collaborating on the research for a new Latin America." The Cuban delegation is composed of 135 academics and intellectuals, who will present papers on issues related to the work of Cuban scientific and cultural institutions. The congress venue was originally set in Boston, but it was changed so the Cuban delegation could attend when the US government denied the visas, an action taken on the two last meetings of this kind. Alarcon was invited by the Association leadership to give a lecture to the plenary. ef ccs iom jrr * ================================================================= .NY Transfer News Collective * A Service of Blythe Systems .
