Venezuela Donates Modular Houses to victims of Peru Earthquake

The Venezuelan government resolved to grant 300 prefabricated, made in
Uruguay, houses to the casualties of the earthquake that swept last
August 15 several areas in Peru, reported Tuesday manufacturer's
sources.

The authorities elected the Uruguayan houses made by UniC3n MetalC:rgica
Industrias del Sur (Umissa), reported the company in a press release
quoted by Efe.

The houses are made of aluminum and wood and will be shipped beginning
this week; they have an area of 75 square meters and include three
bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, laundry and
splashboards.

The cost of the donation for the Peruvian victims was not released.
However, the company noted that since June 2007, Umissa has exported
5,000 modular houses to Venezuela as part of a major agreement.
