Poems by Cuban Antiterrorist Fighter Published in Chile

Santiago, Chile, Aug 30 (Prensa Latina) Chilean intellectuals
highlighted the esthetic and political values of the poem anthology
"Desde Mi Altura" (From My Height), written by Cuban antiterrorist
fighter Antonio Guerrero, who has unjustly served nine years in a US
prison.

The Chilean edition of the poems was launched at a museum in Santiago
by representatives of the Society of Chilean Writers, the College of
Professors and the Union of American writers. The panel was presided
over by Carlos Rivera, of the Corporation Ayun.

The intellectuals extolled Guerrero's poetic sensitiveness. Guerrero,
Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon LabaC1ino, Fernando Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez
are serving time in the US for fighting terrorism.

Fernando Garcia, political advisor at the Cuban Embassy in Chile,
explained the illegal nature of their incarceration and updated the
audience about the recent oral hearing in Atlanta, which was attended
by scores of international observers.

He also called participants to attend the upcoming International
Campaign for the Liberation of the Five, and to seek different ways to
support their cause.
