A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition Film Series “Mission Against Terror”

With an update and discussion of the case of the Cuban Five and a
report back from the Aug. 20 Oral Arguments in Atlanta.

Five Cuban men risked their lives to stop terrorism. But the
F.B.I. arrested the “Cuban Five” on September 12, 1998 and
unleashed one of the biggest violations of justice in our
country.

Mission Against Terror is a powerful and compelling documentary
about Cuba's struggle against terrorism. It begins with an
account of 45 years of US-sponsored terrorism against Cuba,
starting with the chilling cockpit recording of the last words
from the pilot of the Cubana passenger plane that was bombed in
1976 killing all 73 people on board. It describes the arrest of
the five Cubans in 1998, with testimonies from their families,
and goes on to document their 'trial' in Florida which Leonard
Weinglass, the eminent U.S. civil rights lawyer calls a
'violation from start to finish.'

The film goes on to give a moving account of their draconian
sentences and imprisonment, the denial of their rights in U.S.
prisons and the continuing suffering of their families who are
denied access to visit them. It includes interviews with groups
and individuals involved in the fight for justice for the Five,
in the U.S. and Britain. Mission Against Terror is an inspiring
tribute to the Cuban Five's determination to fight for Cuba's
sovereignty and demonstrates why from the legal point of view
Cuba has every right to infiltrate the Miami-based terrorist
groups in order to defend itself. Cuba/Ireland, 48min. 2005
