FINALLY -- THE CUBAN 5 WILL BE GETTING SOME NATIONAL TV NEWS COVERAGE

CNN's "The Situation Room" Weds 8/29/2007

CNN will give some coverage to the Cuban 5 on Weds, Aug 29, 2007
on "The Situation Room," which will include Wolf Blitzer interviewing
Cuban 5 attorney Leonard Weinglass.  The program (anchored by
Blitzer) is broadcast from 4-6 AND 7-8 (the third hour or else re-run of
half the first 2 hours) Eastern time. Parts of it are probably
rebroadcast at some point late at night as well. The segment, some
guess, may appear during the 2nd hour (but this is just a guess).
Apparently it's a 3-hour show, interrupted by an hour of breathless
breaking news at 6:00 pm Eastern.

Apparently the segment, which was originally scheduled for Tuesday
8/28 -- which no one had any advance notice of -- was postponed because
CNN fortunately just HAD to give extra time to a really important story
-- the latest Republican Closet Gay Senator Scandal. Thanks, Sen. Larry
Craig, Republican of Idaho!

CBS Evening News - Monday, Sep 3, 2007 (Labor Day, alas)

Labor Day is not a day for optimum exposure of the case, since most
people won't watch it and they'll probably have a second-string
newsteam on, but the case of the Cuban 5, again with Weinglass, is
scheduled be given some airtime on Labor Day's CBS evening news. a
national show.    

Don't expect much -- the news program is only a half hour, and the
amount of "news" -- the filler in between commercials -- is 20 mins
maximum, so it won't be more than a couple of minutes. Better than
nothing, though. (Let's hope something "more important" like a drunken
starlet's 49th DUI arrest doesn't pre-empt it).
