Venezuela Debunks Slurs on Constitutional Reform 

Caracas, Aug 28 (Prensa Latina) Releasing the true nature of the
Venezuelan Constitutional reform underway is Tuesday part of that
country's current foreign policy strategy.

President Hugo Chavez recently denounced the position adopted by
several European media, which say those changes in the Constitution aim
to perpetuate him as President.

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro said it was important to
defend of the truth in the international arena and debunk media
campaigns against the nation.

Aspects like communal decision making, the geometry of power and
adjustment of the working day are part of the essence of these
constitutional reforms.

After the presentation of the August 15 project, Chavez said that
Venezuela once more faces threats by the empire and its lackeys against
the construction of a socialist model.

These suggested modifications of the Constitution's 33 articles have
stimulated debates throughout the country, aimed at achieving the most
extensive popular agreement for their approval.
