Cuban Schools to Enroll Over 2,000 Visually Impaired Students

Havana, August 28 (acn) Over 2,000 visually impaired children and 
youngsters will enroll for the 2007-2008 school year in Cuba, thanks to 
the conditions created for these students since the triumph of the 
Revolution in 1959.

Most of the pupils are scheduled to enroll in some of the 15 special 
elementary and high schools existing in Cuba, while the others will 
incorporate into higher educational institutes assisted by tape 
recorders and the Braille machines and paper for writing.

Likewise, the National Center for Rehabilitation of the Blind, 
community-based computer clubs and senior citizen schools will host a 
number of sightless students throughout the island.
