Alarcon added that the social processes taking place in Bolivia and Ecuador, in which there is an increasing participation of indigenous peoples, is a model of exchange among countries and governments on this topic. In statements to acn news agency, president of the Parlatino Commission on Indigenous Peoples and Ethnic Groups, Ramses Torres, said that only a change in attitude of governments towards minorities, manifested in constitutional reforms, will allow for true equality in the different societies. Acting president of Parlatino, Amilcar Figueroa, is among the personalities present at the meeting taking place at Havana's emblematic Hotel Nacional. The right of indigenous peoples to generate radio-television communication policies that promote the insertion of ethnic groups in the different countries is among the issues being debated at the meeting of legislators that closes Wednesday.
