Cuban Minister of Culture Attends Sandinista Celebration in Nicaragua

Havana, July 19 (acn) Cuban Minister of Culture Abel Prieto is now in 
Managua, Nicaragua's capital, heading the island's delegation invited 
to the celebration of the 28th anniversary of the Sandinista Revolution.

The Cuban official attended the closing of the 15th Student Congress on 
Wednesday along with Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega.

Prieto warned youth of the efforts toward global domination and 
consumerism designed by the capitalist system to manipulate them, 
reports PL news agency.

The Cuban minister was received at the Augusto C. Sandino International 
Airport by Tomas Borge, a surviving founder of the Sandinista National 
Liberation Front (FSLN.)

The main ceremony -commemorating the July 19, 1979 triumph of the 
Nicaraguan Revolution, which put an end to the Anastasio Somoza 
dictatorship- will take place Thursday night on a public square in 
Managua.

This year, the celebrations will have a special connotation, since they 
have been organized by the FSLN for the first time since it regained 
power on January 10, 2007.
