US, Puerto Rican Solidarity Brigades Visit Cuba

Havana, July 17 (acn) Members of the US's Venceremos and Puerto Rican 
Juan Rius Rivera brigades in solidarity with Cuba visited on Monday a 
foster home in Havana and exchanged about Cuban reality with 
adolescents there.

During the meeting, the visitors learned about the advantages of the 
Cuban educational system that guarantees the necessary resources for 
the education of all the youth of the country.

Delfina RodrC-guez, director of the center, received a donation from the 
visitors, who expressed their support of the social programs being 
implemented by the Cuban Revolution.

Brigade members were impressed by the advances achieved in Cuba in the 
fields of education and social security, which are often hidden by the 
world's mainstream media.

The 38th Contingent of the Venceremos Brigade and the 16th Juan Rius 
Rivera Brigade arrived in Cuba last July 13th and will stay here until 
July 31st. They are participating in voluntary works and visiting 
places of social, cultural and historic interest.
