Juan M. Martinez, with Cuba's Environment Agency told ACN the group includes researchers as well as government and non-government officials, who are considered important in the preservation and rehabilitation of coastal lines. He said the joint project served to consolidate a methodology for the identification and assessment of environmental problems and impacts in the coastal states of the country. Martinez said Cuba and Venezuela are working on the comprehensive management and environmental distribution of all 14 Venezuelan coastal regions and Natural Protected Areas. Likewise, the experts drew up a comprehensive approach for the implementation of sustainable community-based tourist projects in those areas, without overlooking the maintenance and protection of the biological diversity. Martinez is the Executive Secretary of the 6th International Convention on Environment and Development wrapping up Friday at Havana's Convention Center. * ================================================================ .NY Transfer News Collective * A Service of Blythe Systems .
