Cuban Communist Party Delegation on Working Visit to Portugal

Havana, July 6 (acn) Fernando RemC-rez de Estenoz, member of the 
Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party 
(PCC), met on Thursday with the General Secretary of the Portuguese 
Communist Party, JerC3nimo de Souza, during a short working visit to 
Lisbon.

During the meeting, which was also attended by other leaders of the 
Portuguese Communist Party, they spoke about topics of mutual interest, 
including the European Union's policy towards Cuba.

According to a note published on Friday by Granma news daily, De Souza 
reiterated the solidarity of the Portuguese communists with the Cuban 
people, the Revolution and the island's government.

RemC-rez de Estenoz and his accompanying delegation also met with 
deputies of the Socialist, Communist and Green parties and with Antonio 
Filipe, Vice-President of the Portuguese National assembly.

They exchanged opinions on the situation in Europe and Latin America, 
Cuban reality and the economic results of last year as well as the 
upcoming creation of the Friendship with Cuba Group in the Portuguese 
Parliament.
