Bolivian Parliament Deplores US Release of International Terrorist

Havana, Jul 5 (acn) Bolivia's Chamber of Deputies passed a resolution 
on Thursday condemning the release of international terrorist Luis 
Posada Carriles in the United States.

A report by Prensa Latina says according to the legislative body's 
press release, the body denounces Posada's leading role in violent 
actions financed and supported by Washington.

The text makes reference to the Bolivian senate's rejection of the 
judicial process that set the criminal free, which they described as 
arbitrary. It recalls that Posada is one of the masterminds of the 
mid-air bombing of a Cuban airliner in 1976 that took the lives of 73 
innocent people.

With the resolution, the Bolivian parliament joins other social 
organizations, political parties, legal institutions and personalities 
-even in the U.S.- that have denounced the release from jail of Posada.

The deputies also protested the White House's double standards in its 
so-called crusade against terrorism. The resolution noted that while 
sheltering a murderer like Posada, the American government keeps in 
jail five young Cubans who were in the U.S. trying to collect 
information to prevent criminal actions against Cuba.

Likewise, the Bolivian parliamentarians made a call to the American 
authorities saying the release of Posada Carriles discredits the 
country's justice system.

"The freeing of Posada is an offense against all free men and women of 
the world, and furthermore, it is an offense to the memory of the 
victims of his crimes," concludes the document.
