Fidel Castro's 81st Birthday Commemorated Internationally

Havana, August 14 (acn) A number of world personalities has sent their
regards to Cuban President Fidel Castro on the occasion of his 81st
birthday on Monday, reported Granma online newspaper.

In a public act held in Managua, Nicaraguan, President Daniel Ortega
wished the leader of the Cuban revolution "long life for the benefit of
the island and peoples around the globe."

Spokesperson of the Puerto Rican Communist Refoundation Party, Miguel
Cruz, expressed thanks for Cuba's solidarity and said his people will be
permanently in debt to the island.

For his part, head of the Peruvian Nationalist Party, Ollanta Humala,
hailed Fidel Castro from Lima on behalf of people in his country who
wish the Cuban president a full recovery.

Thousand of Spaniards and representatives of political and social
organizations in Santiago de Chile also celebrated Fidel Castro's
birthday.

The Spanish Communist Party sent a message to its Cuban counterpart
acknowledging the validity of Fidel Castro's ideas.

Likewise, the head of the Chilean Communist Party, Guillermo Teillier,
sent a letter to Fidel praising the depth and importance of his
reflections.
