The greatest support to Lugo comes from the most humble sectors of the nation, particularly in the Central Department, where the poorest population lives, the First Analysis and Studies poll showed. Lugo would also defeat former Paraguayan Gen. Lino Oviedo if he is finally released from prison and decides to postulate for president representing the National Union of Ethical Citizens. Oviedo has spent several years in prison for a coup attempt in April 1996. In a scenario of three candidates, Lugo, a PC candidate and Oviedo, Lugo would obtain 33 percent of the votes, followed by the PC representative and Oviedo in third place. Three weeks ago, the National Opposition Concertation chose Lugo as the coalition presidential candidate for the 2008 elections to attempt to overthrow the PC's six-decade hold on the presidency. sus ccs tac tpa PL-1 * ================================================================= .NY Transfer News Collective * A Service of Blythe Systems .
