Cuban Authors Debut 2 New Histories in Argentina, One on Che

Havana, Aug 28 (acn) Cuban writers Adys Cupull and Froilan Gonzalez 
presented in Buenos Aires, Argentina's capital, two historical books at 
a gathering with Argentinean worker's leaders and activists.

The books entitled Sin olvido. Crimenes en La Higuera (Without 
Forgetting. Crimes in La Higuera) and Centroamerica en Julio Antonio 
Mella (Central American in Julio Antonio Mella), were first launched at 
the Book Fair of Rosario, also in Argentina, according to a PL report.

During the meeting the authors held a friendly dialogue with members of 
Argentina's Workers Union Federation. They read abstracts of their 
books which are historical compilations.

Sin Olvido includes an interview that the two Cuban writers, who are 
husband and wife, made in 1983 with Bolivia's former foreign minister, 
Walter Guevara Arce, who confirmed that Ernest Che Guevara was 
assassinated by orders of American authorities. Arce's testimony was 
first published on this book.

He said killing Che, besides being a crime, was a serious political 
mistake, and that he told the Bolivian president at the time, General 
Rene Barrientos.

Adys Cupull and Froilan Gonzalez answered the Argentinean workers'
questions. They gave detailed information about Che's fights in 
Bolivia, which they learned from researches they carried out while 
being part of the Cuban diplomatic mission in La Paz.
