The polls give the first lady an advantage of 21-32 percent over Elisa Carrio, the main candidate of the Social Christian faction. Former Economy Minister Roberto Lavagna, runner for UNA (Una Nacion Avanzada), is third, with an intention of votes between 10.6 and 16.5 percent, according to surveys. The Argentinean electoral law establishes that to be able to win in first round, it is necessary to obtain 45 or 40 percent of votes, but with a 10 percent advantage over the second place.
