World Union Federation Joins Struggle for Release of Cuba Five

Havana, August 17 (acn) The World Union Federation (WUF) urged all its 
members and progressive organizations on the planet to continue their 
actions for the release of the five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters who 
remain unjustly imprisoned in the United States.

In its call, the WUF highlights the importance of increasing the 
mobilizations in favor of Rene Gonzalez, Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio 
Guerrero, RamC3n LabaC1ino and Fernando Gonzalez - internationally known 
as the Cuban Five - prior to the oral appeals hearing scheduled for 
August 20th.

The organization notes that it is important to strengthen the campaign 
to spread the truth about the case of the Cuban Five in national and 
international events and also in public rallies.

These rallies, the WUF stresses, should aim at denouncing the 
violations committed during the process against the Five and at 
counteracting the maneuvers of the US right-wing media, which try to 
distort the truth of the Cuban anti-terrorist fighters and to mislead 
the world public opinion and also the American people.
