[irn-action] Seeking endorsements/AES Panama Dams Date: Wed, 15 Aug 2007 13:33:32 -0700 *******Please send endorsements directly to: Jason Gray Berkeley, August 15, 2007 Dear friends and colleagues, Warm greetings. Please take action to prevent construction of dams in the Changinola River Basin in Panama, and support the Naso and Ngobe indigenous peoples' struggle to defend their rights and livelihoods. Please endorse this letter prepared by the Center for Biological Diversity addressed to the US-based AES Corporation, which is planning to build three dams on the Changuinola River. The hydroelectric dams threaten the La Amistad International Park World Heritage site (PILA in Spanish), its rich biodiversity, and the future of indigenous Naso and Ngobe indigenous groups living on the Park's border. Please send the name of a representative of your organization, name of your organization, address, e-mail address and name of country to: Jason Gray jgray@lclark.edu Thank you, Monti Aguirre Latin America Program Coordinator Join IRN and join the international movement to protect rivers and defend human rights: http://www.irn.org/support. _________________________________________________________ You received this message as a subscriber on the list: irn-action@lists.irn.org To be removed from the list, send any message to: irn-action-unsubscribe@lists.irn.org Attachment Converted: "c:\program files\eudora\attach\CBD letter Aug 6 2007.pdf" Attachment Converted: "c:\program files\eudora\attach\Ngobe Letter in english.pdf"
