[NYTr] Indigenous Parliament Discusses 21st Century Socialism Date: Wed, 31 Jan 2007 13:59:14 -0600 (CST) Via NY Transfer News Collective * All the News that Doesn't Fit Radio Havana Cuba http://www.radiohc.cu Indigenous Parliament to Discuss Socialism of the 21st Century Caracas, January 30 (RHC)-- On Monday, the Indigenous Parliament of America (PIA), headed by a representative of the Venezuelan National Assembly, Josi Poyo, held a meeting with regional indigenous lawmakers in order to present the annual report carried out by this organization, according to the country's Bolivarian News Agency. During the meeting, PIA authorities announced that they are meeting on Tuesday to discuss Socialism of the 21st century. According to a press release issued by the National Assembly (AN), representatives will analyze the work carried out by different commissions of Human Rights, Environment, Ethnic Lands, Family, Women and Youth, Education, Economy and Finances. Representative Josi Poyo announced the creation of new commissions to make up the Federal Council of the Constitutional Reform and the Communal Power, because they are representatives of the native peoples and must get involve in all discussions. Furthermore, he added that they "must discuss about the communal power in order to define the role of native communities in this process."
