Just as the Makah were chided for killing one whale, drawing scads
of attention from the true criminals (commercial whaling), the Nez
Perce have received lots of negative attention for hunting wild
buffalo near Yellowstone National Park. Apparently, it is ok for
Montana and the park service to kill thousands but the Nez Perce
are to be hated for taking a fraction of that.
