The participation in the tenth edition of the event comes under the umbrella of the UAE's National Media Council (NMC), and reflects the country's keenness to achieve perfection and excellence, said an NMC official. "We are not after prizes and awards. We are focusing on showcasing the works we produce through out the year," said Media Adviser at the NMC Abdullah Saleh Al Junaibi. "The Emirati drama began to take its first steps in the eighties of the past century, and walked ahead accepting the new trends in the field, effectively mirroring all that took place in the country in various sectors," added Al Junaibi. Director of Dubai TV Channel Abdul Latif Al Gergawi noted that presently over 200 stations broadcast their services from Dubai, making it an important media centre in the Middle East. (WAM) (WAM)
